WSNC Fall Festival Parade
RHS Class of 1976 Reunion – Special Parade Guests
Saturday October 8, 2016
Arrive at the start location on West Franklin Street near 7th Avenue no later than 3:00pm. Our float starting position may be just west of this location, closer to the Pigeon Creek Bridge. (See Map)
Parade officially begins at 4:30pm, rain or shine. If you’re not there early, you won’t get to ride!
Please wear your RHS Class of ’76 parade t-shirt and comfortable shoes.
T-shirts will be available Friday night at the Twin Towers event. If you can’t make it Friday, you can pick up your t-shirt when you arrive at the float on Saturday.
Full Parade will last approximately 2 hours; however, because we are at the front of the parade, we may be done by 5:30-6:00pm. The parade route officially ends at Franklin and St. Joseph.
RHS Classmates only on the float, please. Spouses or guests of classmates can take a spot along Franklin to watch the festivities and meet up with us later.
Our float will move north on St. Joseph Avenue and stop somewhere along St. Joe for us to unload.
You are then free to walk back to Franklin Street, eat brain sandwiches and ride the Bullet until you puke.
You and your guest are invited to stop by Smitty’s party room (near Franklin and 10th) from 6pm-10pm to visit with classmates. You may carry in food from the booths. However, all alcohol consumed at Smitty’s must be purchased at Smitty’s…we will have a bartender in the party room.
Parking is on your own and you’ll want to find a location that will allow you to walk to the start and end locations, so put on your comfortable walking shoes!
FYI…our start location is very close to Tin Man Brewery and Lamasco Bar, in case you and your guest/spouse want to wet your whistle before we begin. If so, please check in with us at the float first, then head out for refreshments, but know that you must be on the float and ready to go before we depart. No late comers will be allowed to board the float once the parade has started!
